Lindsey Surgery Center

In 1898 Newton Harvey Lindsey, M.D., F.A.C.S., began a medical/surgical practice in the Garvin County area around Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.  He was one of the first members of the American College of Surgeons of Oklahoma and practice medicine until 1934.

In 1930 his son Ray Harvey Lindsey, M.D., F.A.C.S. returned home from medical school to establish his medical/surgical practice in Pauls Valley which lasted until 1973.

James Harvey Lindsey, M.D., F.A.C.S. followed his father and his father's footsteps and opened his medical/surgical practice in Pauls Valley in 1964 and served the community until his retirement in 2003.

For over 105 years the Lindsey family practiced medicine in the Pauls Valley Area and the surgery department will forever bear the name of these physicians in honor of the many lives they have saved and the quality medical they have us during the last century

The Surgery Department at Pauls Valley General Hospital consists of one General Surgeon, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Registered Nurses, and Surgical Technicians. Consulting Specialists are available including a Urologist, Ophthalmologist, and Plastic Surgeon. The Surgery Department offers 24 hour service and various surgical procedures are performed -- gall bladder, hernia, tubal ligations, and cataract removal -- just to name a few. Whether it is a general surgery or an emergency, in an inpatient or outpatient basis, Pauls Valley General Hospital's surgery unit offers medical expertise and individual attention.
