The Pauls Valley General Hospital's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are hospital based and capable of providing both Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support levels of pre-hospital patient care. The EMS employs five paramedics, seven intermediate-level EMT's, and two EMT-basics. The service has recently purchased another portable Cardiac Monitor (which is also capable of noninvasive cardiac pacing and cardiac defibrillation). This cardiac monitor represents some of the newest technology in this type of portable equipment. The EMS operates a fleet of three ambulances, and averages 1200 ambulance calls per year.

Radiology

The hospital's staff believes that early detection can save heartache and -- many times -- a life. The hospital's mammography department is a prime example of this belief. Its experienced, committed specialists and technicians are highly skilled in the mammogram, a diagnostic radiographic examination which can detect a tumor as small as a grain of sand.

Emergency Room

The ER offers 24 hour physician and nursing service to the residents of the hospital service area. The physicians and nurses that staff the ER are trained to handle any urgent medical need, and for those cases that cannot be treated at the hospital, the heliport, located on the hospital grounds, gets the patient to the appropriate treatment center as quickly as possible.
