The Pauls Valley General Hospital's Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
are hospital based and capable of providing both Basic Life Support and
Advanced Life Support levels of pre-hospital patient care. The EMS
employs five paramedics, seven intermediate-level EMT's, and two EMT-basics.
The service has recently purchased another portable Cardiac Monitor
(which is also capable of noninvasive cardiac pacing and cardiac
defibrillation). This cardiac monitor represents some of the newest
technology in this type of portable equipment. The EMS operates a fleet
of three ambulances, and averages 1200 ambulance calls per year.
